Ozeri WeightMaster Digital Bathroom Scale Review

I am just linking some description to you about this scale...

Ozeri, a specialty manufacturer of digital lifestyle products, is proud to be the first manufacturer of bath scales to champion Microban® antimicrobial technology that inhibits the growth of odor and stain-causing bacteria. Infused at the point of manufacturing, Microban® antimicrobial protection works for the lifetime of the product to disrupt the growth of bacteria and helps maintain surface cleanliness. On an unprotected bathroom scale surface, bacteria can double in number every twenty minutes with frequent skin contact and exposure to moisture, which is often the case with typical bath scale usage. And only when they've multiplied to hundreds of thousands, can the bacteria be seen by the naked eye. With Ozeri WeightMaster Bath Scale, Microban® protection begins to work immediately, disrupting key bacterial cell functions so that the bacteria are unable to grow or reproduce on the surface. The WeightMaster Bath Scale by Ozeri is the first bathroom scale to combine an elegant design, Microban's antimicrobial solution and advanced weight measurement technology. The Ozeri WeightMaster uses 4 of the latest generation G sensors to accurately capture weights in increments of 0.2 pounds or 0.1 kilograms. The Ozeri WeightMaster features the industry's largest blue-backlit LCD with xBright technology for easy-to-read results from afar, and utilizes ultra ABS slip-resistant material on the outside with impact-resistant tempered glass on the inside. Whether your goals are weight loss or muscle gain, the Ozeri WeightMaster Bath Scale features the latest
generation of StepOn technology to display your body weight upon stepping onto the scale, with no tapping required. It also turns off automatically to conserve battery power, and runs on 2 AAA batteries (included). Your Satisfaction is 100% Guaranteed.

This scale was shipped to me via Amazon to review and I was curious as to whether it would be accurate with my weight but I should not have worried. It weighs accurately up to 400 lbs. So no worries there. I found the best part of this scale is the huge bright display. There is no need to tap before you step on and it works right away then goes to "sleep" when you step off. It is lightweight but doesn't feel delicate. I worry sometimes about things being cheaply made and not withstanding my rough household but this scale is surviving nicely between me and the family.  Oh yeah.... and it weight 1 lb less than my other scale, which actually makes it exactly the same as the dr office. So I think the accuracy is spot on! Great product!

Book review and Giveaway: Coaster

Summer reading...

You can learn more about this author, Lorena Bathey on her website. I have read The X, another of her works, and reviewed it previously here.  Lorena has a few other books as well and I hope to get the opportunity to read those as well. I love her writing style.

This has been then wettest summer ever....And what do you do when you are stuck in the house???
Find a good book about summer vacations.
A whodunit wrapped in this intense story following several people through a set of events destined to change their lives,  "Coaster" helped me to appreciate our not going to the amusement parks this summer. All of the dramatic events in this book kept me reading without putting it down!
I read this quick but dramatic story in just a few hours.
Starting with a tragic event and ending with every one's lives turned upside down. This great book makes you realize all sides of a tragic event and how it affects those involved.

My son, Anthony, is also on this review since he reads even more than I do.
He actually read this book first, the very day it arrived. So, I couldn't help but ask him what he thought.

The book, Coaster, had a delightful plot. The story itself was wonderful in the way the characters changes in personality and mood. Grief seemed to change them all. I felt the story a little hard to follow at some points with the switching of perspective all too often. Overall, a great read.

Note: This story did have some adult theme and language and may not be
appropriate for young readers.

DIY: Dorothy's Ruby Red Shoes

Why do we always have to imitate what we see on TV? Good question.... but, if you were hoping for an answer.... I'm sorry.  I don't have one for you!
My girls have been obsessed with YouTube lately. They watched a DIY video for Halloween costumes for one of their favorite movie characters.
Dorothy, You know that adventurous young lady from The Wizard of Oz!
My adventurous little girls have decided they BOTH want to be Dorothy for Halloween. Lucky me, I have been assigned the costume making task! Yes, I know it is only July but they also want to wear their costume NOW! Or at least this part of it anyway.
They have insisted the shoes can be worn on a regular basis not just for the costume.
Their argument, "Dorothy wore them all the time so why can't we?"
Who can argue with that?
So we are going to take this old ordinary worn out ugly shoe and turn it into my little girls' dream!
All you need is some Mod Podge, sponge paint brush, glitter, and spray adhesive.
I used a pizza box as the tray to collect excess glitter and protect my table.
This will get messy.
A couple things you may want to do...
  1. Some disposable gloves would be great in keeping the glue from being all over your hands. I used some homemade salt scrub (salt, baby oil, and vitamin E) and it got every last bit of glue off my hands flawlessly!
  2. Masking tape along the soles would do well in keeping the glitter off the soles if you want it to be a more precise edge.
I did neither of those things but I am sure they would have been helpful.
Please, forgive me for not taking an "in progress" picture.
This was really very easy... messy, but easy.
I made sure to start with clean or at least fairly clean shoes.
First you use the sponge paint brush and "paint" the Mod Podge onto the surfaces of the shoes you would like to be glitterfied. Don't waste time so the glue is still wet when you sprinkle on the glitter. Which happens to be the next step. I sprinkled the glitter generously and collected the excess and reused it.
When I finished with the glitter, I sprayed the spray adhesive over the glitter surface of the shoes to protect them from losing the glitter when it dried. However, the spray took away a lot of the shine from the glitter and we just couldn't have that!
So I just sprinkled a little more glitter over the spray just to give it a little sparkle.
I am hoping this will protect the glitter while allowing a little shine without leaving tracks of glitter all over my house.
This is what it looks like.. Pretty big difference huh?
I think they are super adorable.

And the complete finished project! I think this was a very simple project despite the mess.

My kids are happy and we all know THAT is what matters!!!

Epica Ultra Sheet protector Review

I was invited selected from to try out this Epica Sheet protector.
Just reading this description was enough for me to accept!
Brushed Softness on Top, Non-Slip Underneath You'll feel the difference between this pad and disposable ones as soon as you touch it. It's made of 50% cotton/50% polyester fabric that's been brushed on top for flannel-like softness. Plus, it doesn't make crackling noises every time you move, as disposables do. The underside is non-slip to help it stay right where you put it.
Quilted Absorbing Layer Locks in Moisture
The quilt's channels pull moisture away from the surface to the inner layer, where it is trapped so that skin, sheet and mattress all stay dry. An added benefit of the quilted construction is that it prevents the edges from curling.
52" Long for Complete Protection
Lay the pad lengthwise on a twin size mattress, and either lengthwise or crosswise on other mattress sizes for coverage everywhere you need it.
Machine Wash and Dry
After your good night's sleep, just throw it in the washing machine and dryer. In fact, it gets even softer after a few washings!
My opinion:
I received my package rather quickly from Amazon. And I was pleasantly surprised it was bigger than it appears in the picture. I received the full size for my daughters bed. and it reaches from her pillow almost to the foot of her bed protecting the entire sleeping surface.
Just like it says in the description it has a non slip bottom and it works very well. My little wiggle worm is non stop in her sleep as well as wide awake. Nontheless, the pad stayed put all night and by morning the sheets had been well protected.
We have since machine washed and dried this pad and it has held it's shape and became a little softer than when we originally took it out of the packaging.  Even after many washings this Epica Ultra Sheet Protector still continues to do it's job without fail.
I really hope it outlasts the bedwetting stage!
